Door County Bluegrass Camp at TAP
Door County Bluegrass Camp kicked off with a concert at Third Avenue Playhouse in Sturgeon Bay, Door County, Wisconsin last Saturday, July 31, 2010. Founders Lynn Gudmundsen and Lloyd Michelson where on hand to get things started. Eric Lewis, Tommy Burroughs, Billy Contreras, Rich Higdon, Jody Wood and the incredible Karen Mal provided a night of phenominal music. Pink Floyd at DCA – Well Almost
O.K. They might not have actually been Pink Floyd but the New York band “The Machine” sure did sound like them. The Machine performed Pink Floyd at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek, Door County on July 31. The band includes band members Todd Cohen, Joe Pascarell, Ryan Ball and Scott Chaolen, all fine musicians in their own right. Together as The Machine they can duplicate the sound of Pink Floyd’s best. And the light show itself was something you have to see to believe and the Door Community Auditorium was the perfect venue to just sit back and enjoy the show.

Los Lobos Rocks DCA
Los Lobos totally rocked the Door Community Auditorium on Friday, July 23, 2010 in Fish Creek, Door County, Wisconsin. It was an incredible show that had the audience dancing in the aisles (really). Where else could you see local favorites Julian Hagen and Lynn Gudmundson one week, classic acts like Joan Baez the next week and then rock out with Los Lobos the following week.

Julian Hagen & Friends at the Door Community Auditorium
Julian Hagen put on a incredible show at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek, Door County, Wisconsin on July 10, 2010. Joined by some of his most talented friends including Marise Redmond, Eric Lewis, Woody Mankowski, Lynn Gudmundson and Tommy Burroughs, Julian brought the house down with Songs of Life and Love. We are so lucky to live/visit and play in a community of so many talented individuals and have the venues like DCA to showcase them. You have to check out the slideshow if you where lucky enough to be at the concert it will remind you of an incredible show, if you missed the concert the images will give you a taste of what you missed. Door County Idol 2010
The Door County Idol competition was held on Saturday February 6 at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek. 8 contestants competed for the title. I am always amazed at how much talent we have here in Door County and it is real encouraging to see the young talent carrying on the tradition. All the contestants put on a great performance. pat mAcdonald was there to inspire and to present an award for songwriting to Monica Lenius. And the winner was Lilli Nelson.

Benefit for Haitian Relief Concert at DCA
The Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek, Door County Wisconsin presented a benefit concert for Haitian Relief on Saturday, January 23. The best Door County musicians and songwriters donated their time and talent to raise funds and awareness for the survivors of the earthquake in Haiti. The auditorium was full ( I know because I had to park in Ephraim, well almost) with Door Countians who enjoyed a incredible night of music and donated money to the local Red Cross to benefit Haiti. Some of those that performed where Ben Larsen, Dan Mayhew, Lynn Gudmundsen, Julian Hagen, David Hatch, Jeanne Kuhns, Mary Matson, Seth Raddatz, Mark Raddatz, Devin Thomas, Marise Redmann, Dorothy Scott, Sam Kahr, Kirsten Logerquist, Whitney House, Zack Kuntsman, Lars Ribbens, Amanda Larsen, Pete Thelen, Dirty Deuce, melaniejane, Mojo Perry, Thor Thoreson, Jake Kahr, Michael Brecke, Anya Kopischke, Linden House, Phil Passen, Make Keene and more. Some of the highlights where the Gibraltar 3rd grade classes skit, Kirsten Logerquist’s killer cover of a Janis Joplen song with pat mAcdonald joining in on harmonica. melaiejane and Dirty Deuce rocked the house, Jeanne Kuhns sang back up for her daughter Mary Matson, the Raddatz boys where awesome and the finally when everyone took the stage to cover Bob Dylans song “Blowin’ in the Wind”.

Lynn Gudmundsen & Friends
Lynn Gudmundsen appeared at the Door Community Auditorium in Fish Creek, WI last Saturday, January 16, 2010. She put on an incredible show and told stories about her life and how she came to be a musician in Door County. A lot of her friends showed up to accompany her on stage including Julian Hagen, Jeanne Kuhns and Eli Mattson. Also appearing where Beth Chafey-Hon, David Hatch, George Sawyn, Gerhard & Grace Bernhard, Hans Christian, Lloyd Michalsen, Patrick Palmer, Rich Higdon and Sam Kahr. WOW! Primavera Strings at TAP
Primavera Strings
The Primavera Strings performed Christmas by the Beach at the Third Avenue Playhouse in Sturgeon Bay last weekend. It was an incredible show which started with a special appearance by the students of the Door County String Academy. The students where awesome receiving high praise from Hans Christian (what an honor from one of Door County’s most talented musicians). Then Hans, Lynn Gudmundsen and Beth Hon took the stage. WOW, so much talent on one stage. Performing a mixture of Christmas songs and favorites Primavera Strings was a real crowd pleasure. And they had a few unexpected surprises in store.
